CHARACTER DESIGNS WANTED FOR ART SHOW

The Labyrinth wants YOU to design an original character (maybe you already have one) and to submit it on an 8.5 by 11 piece of paper or 11 by 14 piece of paper.

The character design should be several poses, or at least 1 full body pose and several facial expressions of your character.

The art will be used in an upcoming art show taking place at our in store gallery. All artwork will be returned, and you keep all rights. We just want to hang it up for a month or so. The goal is to show artistic creativity.

To submit, email us an image of the page first. Then, if we accept the submission you will be required to drop off the original art at the store. Yes originals only - no print outs please. The pieces don't have to be cleaned up -but the drawings should have appeal. You may submit multiple 'pose sheets/model sheets' for consideration.

the deadline will be posted soon, but feel free to start submitting now.

above are a couple of entries from some keen and talented participants.

Looking forward to what you come up with. Please forward a link to this posting to anyone you feel might enjoy participating.

The Herobear model sheet shown is from an exclusive variant cover of Herobear #4 by the super awesome, incredibly incredible - Mike Kunkel. Mike worked on features like Cats Don't Dance, Tarzan and Hercules as well as having designed the characters for The Life and Times of Juniper Lee. Mike created the variant Model Sheet cover for us several years ago and it is in fact our first exclusive. (start plug: A limited supply is still available for anyone interested. They're $10 each + $5 shipping anywhere in North America: End plug) As an interesting point, Mike had told me at the time that he never created a model sheet for Herobear before he created this cover. As a student, I used Herobear for one of my animation assignments ( weight lift) but all I had to go on was the 1 page image at the back of #1. Wish I had this variant back then!

Cheers,
Dan.
