CIRCUS SPECTACLE MAY 30-JUNE 10

Wanted to let everyone know that my friend Zen, a talented illustrator (the guy who created our store sign/cards) is part of a group show launching tonight at XPACE gallery at 58 Ossington Ave (just north of Queens St. W) and runs from May 30th- June 10th 2007, with an opening night reception on Friday June 1st, from 7 pm- 11 pm.

There will be drinks and food, and music as well!

CHARACTER MODELLING 2 & RATATOUILLE

I've just been informed that both Character Modelling 2 and Art of Ratatouille arrived. They'll be in the store for Thursday. At the same time, it seems I was in error to have said that Jose Lopez's book arrived. It's on it's way and we look forward to it coming soon. Sorry for that bit of confusion. So many packages have been arriving, a mix up was bound to occur. I will announce it's arrival when it does come in.

Just a quick note to say thanks to Amid over at www.cartoonbrew.com for helping get the word out. Amid posted a couple of images of the store. Here's one more he didn't use. If you examine the picture you'll see two of Amid's books that we stock. Robots and Cartoon Modern. Both of these books are must have's. Even though Robots was a disapointing story, the art is amazing, and the book is masterfully put together to showcase the great art.

The new Joe Weatherly book Animal Essence finally made it into the store and it is a really great book. If you love animal drawings, you will love this book. 160 page hardcover, signed and really terrific. Unlike David Colman's book, which has a mix of animal life drawing and character design, Joe's book is a pure sketchbook of animal drawings and paintings from life.

Wanted to say thanks to Jose for sending us copies of his book Mariachi Samurai. This was one of the most popular books of last summer. We sold out quickly and feel very fortunate to be able to offer it again. If you haven't got a copy, come and see it for yourself. You'll discover what so many folks already know. Hey Folks,

Having a store means meeting a lot of new people. Last night I met Tony, one of the Imponderables.

Tony told me that The Imponderables (Toronto comedy troup) are looking for animators to animate one of their skits. aprox 2 minutes long. they will pay for the work. you can check out their stuff on youtube.
