Friday Inspiration : Prince Nez

Really great blog - with interesting art and french poetry. Some of the work reminds me of a cross between one of my favourite French BD artists: Cyril Pedrosa (3 Shadows, shaolin Mousaka, Ring Circus) and one of my all time favourite American graphic novelists: Andrew Robinson (Dusty Star) . At any rate, the line work is delicate. The drawings loose, and full of life. Real happy to have found this one! Check it out and get inspired for yourself.

Michael Keaton is Preacher?

So, we've been handing out a ton of free copies of Preacher #1 today, and I started thinking crazy thoughts. Like - doesn't he look like Michael Keaton?

Thursday Inspiration: Aurore Damant

Aurore Damant is an uuber talented art director and designer located in Paris France.

Her work is extremely appealing and easy on the eyes. I love her graphic shapes and happy 1950s inspired characters. Definately worth checking out.

Reading her blogger profile, it was also interesting to learn she worked on the French cartoon Pirate Family. I have only seen the show once on the french channel, but it was so cool looking.

here's a sample clip from le famille pirate (the pirate family). It's made for TV, so don't expect too much. ha ha. For my taste however, I love the designs of the prinicple characters as well as the locations.

Ok - so the cover keeps it a secret, but the ultra talented Toronto artist, Kei Acedera does all the drawings in this series by Alec Greven. The 9 year old kid who loves to give advice.

The first book, How to talk to Girls, was a huge hit and we sold out quite some time ago. Thursday we will get more copies of that book, plus the ALL NEW How to talk to Moms.

Perfect for fans of Kei as well as making an excellent Mother's day Gift. Yeah -Mother's day isn't till May, but it's better to get something early rather than having to rush last minute.
