Moebius on his art, fading eyesight and legend

For his fans, the man called Moebius could never live up to the mystery conjured up by that name. Like Houdini or Hendrix, Fellini or Frazetta, the 72-year-old French artist’s name has become supercharged by the unreal, which has made it disconcerting to see him sipping from a beige coffee cup in a hotel room near the Burbank Airport while a maid attempted to lug her vacuum cleaner through the doorway. “We need a moment,” the artist said with a Parisian bow of the chin and an apologetic smile. “It’s time to talk about art.” Read the entire article here. Drop by our store to inquire about artbooks and comics by Moebius.

Tiny Trifecta store opens in Brooklyn!

Camilla d'Errico sent us this notice regarding Tara McPherson (whose work we also deeply love), so we wanted to share it with all of you.

This Saturday, April 9th, the wonderful Tara McPherson is opening up her first store in Brooklyn, New York in the Williamsburg district, and there will be a Camilla d'Errico piece titled "Beware the Kuro Trinity" in the debut show! The event is called "Tiny Trifecta" and all of the 100+ pieces of art will be on-sale for only $100 - practically stealing when you see some of the work. Contributors include comics creators like Becky Cloonan, Mike Mignola, Jon Schnepp, and David Mack, as well as fine-arts like Ciou, Gary Baseman, Jeff Soto, Kathy Olivas, Alex Pardee, and so many more. If you can't make it to the opening reception, you should really check out the store sometime in the future, located at 235 South 1 Street. But, if you're not in the New York area, you're still in luck, because we're teasing Camilla's piece before the show. As an added bonus, Molly Crabapple, Brian Ewing, and Jill Thompson are also giving us their contributions to show interested readers. If you would like to feature the images attached in a write-up or gallery about the event, please feel free to do. The link back to the Camilla d'Errico blog is here, if needed. And, if you do end up covering the art opening, please send us a link so we can spread the word even further. Thanks! Sincerely, d'Errico Studios
